Free Harry Potter Picture Writing Prompts for Students

Try these Harry Potter picture writing prompts to inspire your students to write in the classroom.

Many students struggle to get started when writing a story because they can’t think of anything to write about. Now you can use their interest in Harry Potter to write!

I love using picture writing prompts because it is a visual starting point for students to make a story based off of the picture.

Generate Writing Ideas for Students Using Harry Potter Picture Writing Prompts

I have created a collection of Harry Potter Picture Writing prompts just for your students.

FYI: I only endorse things that I've personally used or have come highly recommended from my teacher friends and family and think they may be helpful to you. If you buy anything mentioned using my Amazon referral links, I may get a small commission at no extra cost to you.

You can engage the students by discussing how the picture relates to the books, have the students turn and talk with their neighbors about what they see or have the students jump right in and continue writing their own Harry Potter themed stories. Let them write and then have them share their creative stories with their classmates.

If your students still struggle to get started have then come up with a list of characters, questions, movies or something related that gets them generating ideas. This way they can practice their writing, but in a more successful modified task.
